Welcome to the Ojai Center for The Arts . This month the gallery features the annual "hot Summer Days, Hot Summer Nights," an open juried show. The hot juried exhibition honors the lazy, hazy days of summer.August 5th. Visit the gallery this month and see jow Ojai Sizzles

The Art Branch is an active group of volunteer members who strive to promote these early tenets set forth in the Articles of Incorporation,"The purpose of the Art Center is to advance the interest, influence and usefulness of the Arts in the community... to engage in the promotion from an avocational standpoint of fine and applied arts." Whicn means to us joyfully creating,exhibiting,networking and providing hands on experiences in the Arts.

The galleries are a source of pride for the Art Center, displaying a high quality of local work from Ojai, Santa Barbara and Ventura County artists as well as artists from as far away as New York.. Many artists who have since gained national recognition have had their start at the Art Center.
The Art Branch Gallery Commitee
selects gallery artists and schedules monthy art exhibits with two indoor galleries, outdoor exhibit space and display cases for three dimensional work. Artists may submit an artist's portfolio to be considered for a future exhibition in care of Director Teri Metala, P.O. ox 331, Ojai, Ca. 93024. The portfolio should include a minimum of 10 photos of current work, a biographyand an artist's statement.Other branch offerings::classes, workshops, OCA open shows and various seminars on art issues.

The City of Ojai Arts Commission welcomes artists in every medium to be included in the City of Ojai's Artists Roster on the Comission website now under construction at www.artsojai.org. CALL TO ARTISTS: The Oak View Park and Resource center houses the Ventura Boys and Girls Club and Smart Start for school age and pre-school children. They have an 'art center' with programing on Thurs mornings but would like to expand.Any volunteer artists interested in working with students contact : Linda Potter at 649- 2518

The Ojai City Gallery presents the work of our own Grand lady of the Art Center, Marta Nelson, Exhibition hours: Monday- Thursday from 8:00 a.m.to 5:30 p.m. at Ojai City Hall, 401 S. Ventura St.

Ojai Artists Cooperative, Made in Ojai Artisans & Mercantile, is looking for experienced member artists within the Ojai Valley. Members work is juried in by the co-op, requires member dues and a time committment. Any interested artist can get an application at the store located behind the arcade at 323 E. Matilija St.


The Spotted Dog Studio, located at 912 N. Drown Ave., Ojai, 93023, is an open-access printmaking studio. This workshop features a large work area, 3 large format etching presses and one small format etching press. The studio offers classes for adults in monoprinting, collagraph printing and relief printing. Guest artists visit the studio several times a year to give classes in a variety of printmaking processes. Scheduled to offer classes late in 2008 are Michael McCabe and Tom Kirby, both printmakers from Santa Fe. The studio owner and art center member, Linda Taylor, also offers classes in printmaking as well as editioning services.The studio is available for drop-in work after attending one of the classes offered at minimal cost.
